MSU INFORMATION

Hello from your Morehead State recruiter! As usual, it’s hard to believe it’s time to start another school year. I hope you at least had the opportunity to relax a little and enjoy your time off!

We are excited to report another great incoming freshman class, and our initial indications show that enrollment of first-time freshmen is up significantly year-to-year, and again the incoming class has the highest average ACT score in school history – 3.5+GPA and 23 ACT! I would like to thank each of you for your efforts in this great accomplishment – you are awesome to work with! I’ve been itching to get out of the office all summer, and I am more than excited to get back out on the road to begin working with you and your eager students!

Morehead State University continues a dedication to student success, personalized attention and high-quality academic programs, but making that experience affordable to students and families. In fact, we froze our tuition and housing costs this cycle as a sign of our commitment to affordability. We will continue to evaluate strategies and to look for ways to make higher education as affordable as possible to as many students as possible at Morehead State.

Below you will find a list of Meet MSU Night and Open House dates - please invite your students/parents to attend any of these events. We also will be hosting several specific academic showcase days, where students can have a more in-depth experience with their future faculty members. Beside each, I have listed registration information. These events are great opportunities for students to meet with academic department representatives and learn more about what MSU has to offer.

If you would like to bring a group of your students to campus, you can arrange this online at www.moreheadstate.edu/schoolgroupvisit - for specific questions, please contact Pam Wright at p.wright@moreheadstate.edu or 606-783-2000.

Students who are enrolled in the Eagle Scholars Program, QUALIFY for free/reduced lunch, schedule an official visit (see above), or attend a Meet MSU Night or Open House event will have their $30 application fee waived. We ask that students bring their ACT scores and transcript so that we may process their applications as quickly as possible.

I do not anticipate any major scholarship changes. As usual, the Honors Program Scholarship deadline will be December 1, and the application can be accessed now atwww.moreheadstate.edu/honors. Our Foundation awards should be available in November and students can apply at www.moreheadstate.edu/scholarships.

If you need a report illustrating your recent graduates who have enrolled at MSU, that information can be requested at:http://www.moreheadstate.edu/Administration/Institutional-Research (select the DATA REQUEST FORM).

For information regarding pre-college curriculum requirements – specifically foreign language credits – please visit http://www.moreheadstate.edu/success/College-Readiness/Pre-College-Curriculum-Requirements. If a student has not met the PPC requirements, they can still be admitted but will be required to complete those in their first year.

If you have any questions or concerns, as always, please feel free to contact me via phone or e-mail. Have a wonderful year and GO EAGLES!
