Title I

What is Title I?

Title I is a federally funded program, which was created by "Title I, Part A" of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 and was reauthorized by the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001". It's purpose is to help all students receive a good education and to help them meet academic standards. Title I does this by providing special programs, projects, and learning materials.

The educators in the Wolfe County Public Schools are committed to providing a quality instructional program for your child. Our district receives federal funds for Title I programs as part of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). Under NCLB, parents/guardians have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's teacher. If you would like to request this information, contact your school's principal. Include your child's name, the names of your child's teacher(s), and an address or email address where information may be sent.
