After graduating from McDowell High School in 1992 and completing his B.A. in English at Morehead State University in 1996, Daniel Combs tried a different route than most English majors choose: he worked for Microsoft for a while, spent a stretch of time as a welder, and worked with the KY State Police for a bit before finally deciding to become a teacher.  Mr. Combs has been a proud staff member at Wolfe County High School since 2001.

Mr. Combs completed his Masters in Education in 2004 at MSU.  He has also participated and became a fellow of the National Writing Project.

In 2008, Mr. Combs completed his second Masters degree, this one in English Literature, which served as his Rank I teaching certification.
