WOLFE COUNTY SOFTBALL2014 SPRING/SUMMER YOUTH LEAGUE/TRAINING OPTIONS
  1. RED RIVER LITTLE LEAGUE
  • Games played at American Veterans Park in Clay City and a couple at WC Sports Complex
  • 12 game schedule on various nights of the week and Saturday
  • Time-frame is Mid-April to Mid-June
  • $40 per child (uniform provided)
  • This is a sanctioned Little League Program
  • Players can qualify for post-season All-Star Teams that advance to regional/state/national tournaments

  • AGE GROUPS FOR RRLL
  • T-BALL                         4-6
  • COACH-PITCH          7-9
  • FAST-PITCH               10-12
  • SENIOR LEAGUE      13-15/16 (depends on participants)
  1. JACKSON PARKS AND RECREATION LEAGUE
  • Games played at Kiwanis Park in Jackson
  • 10-12 game schedule on various nights of the week and Saturday
  • Time-frame is mid-April to the first week of June
  • $200 team entry fee (uniforms NOT provided)
  • Mighty Mites is a Co-Ed league for 6-8 year olds.  It is a Coach-Pitch league
  • In the Pony-Tail Division, players hit off a pitching machine for 3 Innings and then face Live Pitching for 2 Innings.

  1. IN-COUNTY INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE
  • This would depend on the number of girls interested.
  • Teaching the fundamentals/rules of the game would be the primary goal of this endeavor!!
  • We could have joint practices/play dates if we had approximately 15-20 girls per age group.
  • If we had 10-12 girls per age groups, we could have practices and then play other county teams.  Games are very easy to find.
  • Parents and volunteers would have to coach and umpire.
  • Field availability is a major issue especially during high school season because we only have one field.
  • There are 2 back stops at the track behind the high/middle school.  We can also utilize the soccer field for practices.
  • Some parent or volunteer would have to be over the communication/field and game scheduling, etc….
