WOLFE COUNTY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS VISITED BY FAMOUS HISTORICAL FIGURES
Wolfe County Elementary Schools Visited by Famous Historical Figures

Recently, students from Campton, Rogers and Red River elementary schools were visited by David Hurt portraying Lilly Cornett and Scott New portraying Daniel Boone through a chautauquan presentation.  Lilly Cornett spoke of his experiences protecting his woodland homeland which still stands today in Letcher County.  Daniel Boone spoke of his travels to Kentucky while debunking many myths about this great historical figure.  Wolfe County Schools would like to thank the Kentucky Humanities Council for developing such a wonderful program and to our local Mountain Telephone paid for this great learning experience for our students.
