Campton Elementary 4th Grade Visits Carter Caves

Recently the 4th Grade at Campton Elementary visited Carter Caves State Park.  Students learned about the geologic processes that helped form the beautiful rock formations that cover the inside of the cave.  Additionally, they learned about water, erosion and other forces that helped to form and shape the various passages of the cave system.  These lessons are directly related to key concepts of science taught in the classroom.  A huge thanks to Mrs. Evans and Mr. Elam, 4th Grade teachers, for helping to arrange this very educational trip.  A thanks also to the other sponsors and parents who helped with the students.  Pictured above the fourth grade students get an orientation into what they are about to see underground from a park ranger.
