Breaking it in Party- RRV Kids Break in Their New Playground Equipment
Last year the RRV administration and RRV PTO set a goal of working hard to purchase badly needed playground equipment. We all worked hard together and raised money and awareness. We reached out and began working with Superintendent Kenny Bell, School Board Member Lee Picklesimer, and the other members of the board. ...And we reached out to our legislative delegation: State Reps. John Will Stacy and Richard Henderson and State Senator Robert Stivers.

Our hard work and teamwork eventually paid off: at the start of the school year Rep. John Will Stacy presented Superintendent Bell, Board Member Lee Picklesimer, and Principle Brian Creech with a Coal Severance check from the Kentucky General Assembly in the amount of $20,000, of which $15,000 was designated for playground equipment.

At our August PTO meeting we tasked our committee to go out and buy some new equipment using a combination of the funds we received from the legislature along with money we had raised. And that's what they did! It arrived last week and is scheduled to be up and running by next Wed. (9/22)

So, on Wed. September 22nd, starting at 6pm, we'll be having a celebration to let the RRV kids break our new equipment in. Refreshments will be served and guests are welcome. We hope to see many of you there.

Please contact us should you have any questions.

Thank you.

Johnathan Gay, RRV PTO President
